Accounting Policy Analyst

About the Job:

JCW is working in partnership with a regional bank Based in Pittsburgh. Our client is seeking talented candidates to fill an Accounting Policy Analyst opening due to the ongoing expansion. As an Accounting Policy Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations while supporting the bank's financial reporting processes. You will collaborate closely with various departments, offering your expertise to interpret and implement accounting policies that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This is a unique opportunity with significant exposure to leadership with the potential for quick career advancement.

This role is in a hybrid format.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, interpret, and apply accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory guidelines relevant to the banking industry.
• Analyze financial transactions and assess their impact on the bank's financial statements.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures documentation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on accounting issues and ensure consistency in financial reporting.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on the bank's operations.
• Support external audits and regulatory examinations by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Proven experience (3 years) in accounting policy research and implementation, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC regulations, banking regulations).
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across different levels of the organization.
