Our client are a growing, global investment management organization, with offices across the US, Europe and Asia. At this time they are currently seeking a Corporate Accountant to join their Finance team, either based in Munich or Madrid, to be primarily responsible professional accounting for the EU business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee financial transactions within the EU, ensuring compliance with German and Spanish accounting practices.
- Support US-based accounting teams and oversee entities in the UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
- Collaborate with external accounting, tax, and audit providers.
- Maintain and update entries in the general ledger (SAP), and prepare detailed financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses.
- Ensure compliance with German and Spanish tax regulations, and support audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting aligned with German and Spanish market dynamics.
- Manage and approve cash payments, reconcile bank statements, and process invoices.
- Play a key role in documenting workflows, policies, and procedures while optimizing financial processes across the company.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent recognized accounting qualification is strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting with a strong focus on German and Spanish financial processes.
- Knowledge of the asset management industry is a plus.
- Fluency in both German and English (C2 level).
- Expertise in SAP, DATEV, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment.
