Head of Risk & Compliance

Our client, a leading professional services firm based in Luxembourg, is seeking a Head of Risk and Compliance. This role is critical in driving the firm’s risk management and compliance strategy locally while aligning with global standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with global teams and local department heads to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain the firm’s reputation for excellence. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team and shape compliance practices for an established and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the local expert on regulatory frameworks and policies (including AML-CTF, GDPR, Cross-border Tax Regulations/DAC6, and Sanctions)
• Manage the compliance team and take responsibility for their continued development
• Oversee client onboarding and ongoing monitoring processes for Luxembourg
• Maintain and update internal policies and controls
• Provide training and guidance to staff on all matters related to risk & compliance
• Advise on risk-related matters and update the firm's risk register regularly.

Experience Required

• A degree in Law and 10+ years' experience in Risk Management or Compliance in Financial Services or Professional Services in Luxembourg
• Expertise in interpreting and implementing legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Fluency in English and French is essential.
