Project Director

I am recruiting a project director for a key role in the grid corridor upgrade program to be based in Southern Germany. The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years experience in driving large infrastructure projects in Germany and must have professional level German language.

The position is responsible for overall technical coordination and management. He/she is the contact to the Customer on technical matters and answerable for elaboration of best solutions with project members under technical aspects.

Customer Interface:

• Serve as the primary contact for customer management on all engineering-related topics.
• Organize clause-by-clause analysis and coordinate certification activities.
• Manage customer technical meetings and ensure consistent responses to customer queries.

Consolidation and Scheduling:

• Accountable for consolidating the provisional drawing list with submission dates.
• Create and manage the global time schedule for all engineering activities.

Supplier/Partner Management:

• Support PEMs in managing technical interfaces with main subcontractors, customers, and third parties.
• Develop O&MM structure and organize ROE with customers, main suppliers, and internally.

Coordination and Interface Management:

• Coordinate with discipline PEMs to ensure timely delivery of technical interfaces.
• Ensure information exchange interface sheets are in place and followed

Risk and Opportunity Management:

• Consolidate and manage technical risks and opportunities for the project.
• Implement a design freeze process and validate the design freeze following relevant reviews and risk assessments.

Design Management:

• Ensure the effectiveness of design against contract requirements within the project budget.
• Review main subcontracting files for design activities and optimize global costs during basic design.
• Organize design reviews with the customer and certifier, integrating EHS requirements based on project strategy.

Performance Tracking:

• Set up and consolidate engineering KPIs and reporting for the entire project.
• Ensure non-conformance reports involving engineering are managed effectively.
