JCW are currrently seeking an Accounting Manager on a short term freelance contract until the end of Feb 2025. Beyond overseeing daily accounting activities, you will manage and mentor a team of accountants while driving strategic initiatives to enhance financial efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Closing Activities: Oversee the full closing process, ensuring accurate balance sheet and performance analysis, and deliver dependable monthly and annual financial reports.
Annual Accounts: Prepare both single and consolidated annual financial statements, ensuring accurate reporting to the works council.
Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants, fostering motivation and ensuring strong performance.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with a background in a managerial role.
- Proven people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team toward professional growth.
- Strong expertise in Belgian accounting standards (Belgian GAAP), VAT legislation, and tax compliance.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably S/4HANA or similar ERP systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams and departments.
