About the Role:
We are seeking a Claims Expert to join our Property, Engineering, and Marine Insurance team in Lausanne. In this role, you will manage and resolve complex claims across various lines, ensuring timely and fair settlements while delivering high-quality service. You will collaborate closely with clients, brokers, and internal teams to drive best-in-class claims management in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle claims in Property, Engineering, and Marine insurance, including major losses and technical claims.
- Review, investigate, and assess claims in line with policy terms, conditions, and coverage.
- Coordinate with external experts, including surveyors, loss adjusters, engineers, and legal advisors, to support claims resolution.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants, brokers, and third parties while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage claims costs, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in claims handling.
- Prepare detailed claims reports and provide insights into claims trends to support underwriting and risk management.
- Collaborate with the underwriting team to enhance policy terms and conditions based on claims experience.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in claims management.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by providing professional and empathetic communication throughout the claims process.
Requirements:
- Language: Fluent in English & German (written and spoken); French is a plus.
- Strong experience in handling claims within Property, Engineering, or Marine insurance.
- In-depth knowledge of Swiss insurance regulations and international insurance markets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex claims effectively.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a client-centric approach.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple claims simultaneously.
- Degree in law, engineering, insurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in claims management or insurance are an advantage.
