Our client, a leading European Bank based in Luxembourg, is seeking a skilled Climate and Environmental Risk Expert to join their Risk team on a contract/freelance basis (11 month project). In this role, you will support the Head of Risk Management to enhance and oversee risk management strategies, focusing on regulatory compliance, climate & environmental risk management, and reporting practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of compliance measures aligned with Climate & Environmental risk regulatory requirements (e.g., ECB Guide to C&E risks, Fit-for-55 initiative, EBA ITS 2022/01).
- Apply your knowledge of Internal Capital and Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ICLAAP) regulation (e.g., CRD IV, EBA Guidelines) to enhance internal capital and liquidity management strategies.
- Contribute to recovery and resolution planning efforts, ensuring compliance with the BRRD and updating recovery plans and resolution reports.
- Design, execute, and optimize risk reporting, monitoring, and escalation processes, especially those related to risk appetite and climate-related risks.
- Utilize SQL Server to manage data requirements, support risk quantification, and facilitate stress testing in climate and environmental risk management.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong understanding of Climate & Environmental risk regulatory requirements and practices.
- Proficiency in ICLAAP regulation and experience implementing these practices within banking operations.
- Familiarity with the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) and experience in creating or updating recovery plans.
- General knowledge of banking regulations, with a particular focus on risk management standards.
- Experience in SQL Server for data management related to risk analysis.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
- Must be available to start the contract on 1st December
