Head of Cyber Underwriting – Central Europe

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Cyber Underwriting to lead our cyber insurance portfolio across Central Europe. Based in Zurich, you will be responsible for managing a team of underwriters, driving profitable growth, and developing underwriting strategy in a rapidly evolving risk landscape.
This is a key leadership role within our international underwriting division, requiring a strong technical understanding of cyber risks, market trends, and client needs. You will work closely with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to shape our cyber insurance proposition and ensure sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute the cyber underwriting strategy for Central Europe, aligning with the company’s overall objectives.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the regional cyber insurance portfolio, ensuring profitability, risk selection, and sustainable growth.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of underwriters, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring technical excellence.
- Market Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key industry stakeholders to expand our market presence.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate and underwrite complex cyber risks, setting underwriting guidelines and pricing strategies.
- Innovation & Product Development: Collaborate with product teams to enhance existing offerings and develop new cyber insurance solutions in response to market trends.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure underwriting practices adhere to local and international regulatory standards.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in cyber underwriting within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing underwriting teams.
- Deep understanding of cyber risks, market dynamics, and emerging threats.
- Proven ability to drive profitable growth and strategic initiatives.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; German and/or another Central European language is a plus.
