JCW are currently seeking a Legal and Regulatory Compliance Officer to manage the Belgian legal and regulatory compliance issues, on behalf of their insurance client based in Antwerp.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage Belgian legal and compliance risks impacting the Belgian branch and the wider business.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on new and upcoming Belgian legislation through proactive horizon scanning and follow up on necessary compliance actions.
- Compliance Culture: Embed a compliance culture within the Belgian business and act as the primary point of contact for compliance matters.
- Training & Advisory: Organize training for employees on legal and compliance issues and advise on product development and organizational changes.
- Legal Qualification: Qualified lawyer with 5 to 10 years’ experience in Belgium.
- Language Skills: Fluency in French, English, and Dutch.
- Experience: Preferably with a background in Insurance or Financial Services regulation or experience in advising on legal and regulatory matters in those industries.
- Relationship Management: Ability to build effective relationships across different departments and with stakeholders.
