Manager of Underwriting

JCW is currently working on behalf of a leading specialty managing general insurance agency focused on program business for the security guard, investigative, and alarm/electronic security sectors. This organization is recognized for its top-tier underwriting and program management, holding exclusive underwriting authority with partner carriers. In this role, you'll be reporting directly to the president of the organization while managing a team of 10+ underwriters

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of a well-established insurance program, including business production, underwriting profitability, claims management, carrier relationships, technology integration, performance reporting, and staffing of a large team.
• Collaborate with carrier partners to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and profitability across all lines of business. Conduct regular reviews of loss data, rate changes, renewal retention, and new business production, engaging with finance, actuarial, and claims departments.
• Supervise a team of 13 employees, including underwriters, claims administrators, and administrative staff.
• Manage broker distribution and key strategic partnerships nationwide.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience years of underwriting experience ; ideally within professional lines and/or casualty
• Leadership experience
