About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and driven Property Underwriter to join our Zurich team. This role involves underwriting complex property risks and contributing to the growth and profitability of our property portfolio. Experience in non-life insurance is essential, and expertise in construction insurance will be a strong advantage. You will also play a key role in negotiations with brokers and clients, fostering strong business relationships in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment and Underwriting:
- Evaluate and underwrite property risks in accordance with company guidelines and underwriting strategy.
- Assess complex risks, particularly in the construction sector, ensuring accurate pricing and coverage terms.
- Review and analyze submissions, policy terms, and endorsements.

Client and Broker Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Lead or participate in negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Provide timely and professional support to brokers and clients on underwriting matters.

Portfolio Management:
- Monitor the performance of the property portfolio, ensuring alignment with profitability targets.
- Identify opportunities for new business and renewal growth.
- Collaborate with other teams, including claims, risk engineering, and actuarial, to optimize risk selection and portfolio performance.

Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all underwriting activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
- Prepare reports and provide insights on portfolio performance and market trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in non-life insurance underwriting, with property experience required; construction underwriting experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with brokers and clients.
- Fluency in English and German (both written and spoken) is essential.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced international environment.
