Reinsurance Accounting Manager

JCW is currently recruiting on behalf of a growing specialty reinsurer seeking a skilled and experienced Reinsurance Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team. As a senior member of the reinsurance division, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership, direction, and management over core reinsurance accounting responsibilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the rapid growth and development of the firm's US-based business. This is a remote opportunity with occasional domestic travel.

Responsibilities-

• Manage monthly reinsurance accounting and reporting activities, including preparation of statutory filings and coordination with auditors.
• Oversee accounting for ceded and assumed premium and losses, ensuring proper allocation and reconciliation.
• Coach and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support corporate goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

• 5 to 7 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in a financial services environment.
• CPA certification with top-tier public accounting/audit background highly desirable.
• Strong technical acumen and expertise in accounting principles.
• Experience with various types of reinsurance agreements.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
