DevSecOps Engineer

A leading blockchain infrastructure company is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join its globally distributed team. With a strong presence in Berlin, London, and Lisbon, the company has been at the forefront of blockchain innovation—developing key infrastructure for Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Zcash, and pioneering next-generation protocols including Substrate and Polkadot.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the security of cutting-edge decentralized technologies, while collaborating with a highly experienced and technically deep team.
This position plays a critical role in securing infrastructure, pipelines, and cloud systems across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with infrastructure, release engineering, and IT teams, embedding security into systems and processes while balancing practical implementation with a risk-based mindset.
Advise infrastructure and IT teams on security best practices, using a pragmatic, risk-based approach
Automate security controls and enhance developer and IaC processes (CI/CD, build, test, release)
Strengthen supply chain security and monitor relevant metrics and audits
Harden network infrastructure, VMs, containers, and address cloud misconfigurations
Manage endpoint security, IAM, SIEM, threat intelligence, and common infrastructure misconfigurations
Plan and conduct penetration testing, including coordination with third parties
Select tools and methodologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture (open-source preferred)
Define and implement organization-wide security guidelines and automation
Mentor teammates on security and infrastructure engineering best practices
Outcome-driven approach with strong execution skills
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with diverse engineering and IT teams
Expertise in Linux-based environments (VMs, SSH, VPNs, firewalls)
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (including managed services), Terraform, Ansible, GitHub/GitLab, ArgoCD, and image registries
Familiarity with cloud environments, especially Google Cloud and other non-managed providers
Preferred: Understanding of blockchain infrastructure (wallets, key management, RPC nodes, indexers, etc.)
