About the Company:

Our client is a leading international insurance company with a strong presence in the European market. They specialize in providing innovative risk solutions across multiple lines of business. As they continue to expand, they are looking for an experienced Senior Property Underwriter to join their team in Zurich.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Property Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of international property risks, ensuring profitability and compliance with the company’s risk appetite. You will play a key role in business development, working closely with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to drive growth and maintain strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, underwrite, and manage complex property risks across international markets.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and partners to drive profitable growth.
• Negotiate terms and pricing in line with the company’s underwriting strategy and risk appetite.
• Conduct in-depth risk analysis and provide technical expertise to ensure sound underwriting decisions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify business opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including claims, actuarial, and risk management, to optimize portfolio performance.
• Support junior underwriters and contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of property underwriting experience within an international insurance or reinsurance company.
• Strong knowledge of large and complex property risks, including industrial and commercial lines.
• Proven track record in broker and client relationship management.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a strategic approach to underwriting.
• Fluency in English; German or French is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience working in the Swiss or European market is highly desirable.
